Danez Smith is a spoken word artist, actor, writer and playwright based out of Madison, WI. While studying education at UW-Madison, he
became one of the founding members of the First Wave Hip-Hop Theatre Ensemble, the first Hip-Hop Scholarship and Performance group to be
funded by a University. Danez regularly performs around the United States and has performed in Mexico, Panama, Switzerland and England.
Danez has represented the city of Madison at the National Poetry Slam every year since he moved from the Twin Cities.

Gold n Blues is an a cappella group from Marquette University that began in 2008. The Gold 'n Blues is committed to spreading their love for
music around Marquette’s campus and the Milwaukee area. Now approaching its fourth year of existence, GnB continues to arrange their own
songs and is recording its first album.
Davia Fenton sang hooks for pioneering female rapper, Sweet Tee, was the Executive Assistant to Hip-Hop legend, LL Cool J, and the queen of
Hip-Hop Soul - Mary J. Blige calls her talented friend. After many years in the background, Davia has graced the center stage with an exciting
debut recording. Introducing Davia is the title of her long-awaited EP and a public invitation to experience a fresh perspective in the
independent soul genre. Davia’s style is silky lush vocals wrapped in melody with skillfully crafted songwriting. Davia’s approach to her career
is also quite organic and reminiscent of the early days of artist development in the music industry. Prior to recording any of her original songs,
she rehearsed, jammed and performed extensively with her jazz band to solidify her comfort level and live performance technique.
Jason Hillman has performed in numerous places throughout Milwaukee, including the Y-Not III Showcase, the Onyx Midwest Comedy Jam, the
Kick Me Comedy Showcase Room, the Funny For Breakfast Geese and Comedy Extravaganza, The Invasion at Live on North and Last Laugh
Thursdays at The Art Bar. He has also been seen at The Edge and Zanies in Chicago. He has been engaged in battle at the Jammin' 98.3 New
Orleans Comedy Contest, the Full Frontal Comedy Contest and Racines Hottest Comic Contest. In addition to his comedy career, Jason has
acted in Patrick Schmitz's Sketch 22 and a few short films in the Milwaukee area.
Jonathan Butler-Duplessis is a talented actor and director from Illinois. Jonathan is part of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater's Artistic
Internship class of 2011. His past credits include Sylvester in The Milwaukee Repertory Theater/Actor's Theatre of Louisville co-production of
Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Milwaukee Rep's 1st Annual Rep Lab and other shows in The Rep's 10/11 season.
2011 BNV Team includes Emmitt Williams, Briana Williams, Amy Pelican, Jordan Gaines, Jenna Webster and Justin Sparapani. These six
young talented spoken word artists won spots on the regional Brave New Voices team and competed in the national competition in Bay Area,
